The 2026 1oz Australian Kookaburra Silver Coin continues one of The Perth Mint's longest-running annual bullion coin series with a new portrayal of Australia's famous laughing bird.
Struck from 1 troy ounce of 99.99% pure silver, the 2026 release captures a kookaburra in flight over an Australian river landscape. With annually changing Kookaburra artwork and a maximum mintage of 500,000 coins, it combines recognisable Australian design with a classic 1oz silver bullion format.
Designed by Wade Robinson, the reverse portrays a kookaburra in flight over a river, framed by lush trees and rugged rocks. The design includes the inscription KOOKABURRA, The Perth Mint's P mintmark, weight, purity and 2026 year-date.
A micro-laser engraved letter is incorporated within the reverse as an authentication feature and is only detectable under magnification.
The obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III together with the coin's AUD $1 monetary denomination.
