The 2025 1oz Perth Mint Lunar Snake Silver High Relief Proof Coin in Presentation Box celebrates the sixth animal of the Chinese lunar calendar with a deeply sculpted high-relief design.
Struck by The Perth Mint from 1 troy ounce of 99.99% pure silver, the coin combines a proof finish with raised relief to create greater depth across the snake and surrounding design elements. It is the sixth annual release in the Australian Lunar Series III and has a limited maximum mintage of 3,888 coins.
The reverse portrays a coiled snake resting beneath hanging leaves. Struck in high relief, the raised design gives the snake and surrounding foliage greater depth and definition against the coin’s polished proof surfaces.
Also included on the reverse are the Chinese character for “Snake”, the inscription “SNAKE 2025” and The Perth Mint’s traditional “P” mintmark. The design was created by Perth Mint artist Sean Rogers.
The obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, together with the coin’s weight, purity and monetary denomination.
In Chinese lunar tradition, the snake is associated with qualities including wisdom, intelligence, independence and charm.
