Beginning in 2012 and concluding in 2015, the Australian Opal coin series was a 4-year very limited mintage series designed to showcase unique native Australian nocturnal species of wildlife. Minted in Perth, the stunning series was produced only in proof quality and presented in a beautiful display case. The opal design with its dark black background symbolises moonlight. This series was produced in 1oz size only, minted with 99.9% purity silver.
