This coin features a depiction of the 1787 cartwheel penny commemorate Governor King's proclamation in 1800 which attempted to standardise the value of the wide variety of coins circulating in the New South Wales colony at the time. The coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2000 year-date and the monetary denomination.
