Queensland Mint is proud to present the 2023 5oz Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle Gilded High Relief Silver Proof Coin.

Wedge-tailed eagles can be observed across mainland Australia and Tasmania in a variety of habitats from coastal to alpine regions. The birds favour lightly wooded country offering favourable nesting sites from which they have a clear view of their territory and ready access to prey including reptiles and small mammals.

Coin Highlights:

• Contains 5oz 99.9% Silver, 24ct Gold Plate  Fine Silver
• Packaged in presentation box 
• Limited mintage of 1,000 coins worldwide

Reverse: portrays a wedge-tailed eagle with outstretched wings standing on a branch. Together with the coin’s rims and serrated edge, the bird is gilded in 24-carat gold. Also in the design is the inscription AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, and the coin’s weight, fineness and 2023 year-date.

Obverse: portrays The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, featuring the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II supplemented with the dates of her reign, and the coin’s monetary denomination.
