Queensland Mint is proud to present the 2022 2oz Australian Jingle Bell Antiqued Silver Coin from The Perth Mint.
Traditionally, jingle bells were attached to horses as adornments. More practically, they provided advanced warning to pedestrians, especially in winter when horse-drawn sleighs could be difficult to hear or bring to a halt. In popular culture, the sound of jingle bells (also known as sleigh bells) herald the approach of Santa Clause in a reindeer-drawn sleigh on Christmas Eve.

Reverse: Featuring an antiqued surface treatment, the reverse of the coin portrays a Christmas wreath decorated with gold coloured decorative baubles, candy canes and Christmas berries. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark is also included in the design. Encased in the coin’s centre is a 24-carat gold-plated jingle bell sure to fascinate children of all ages!
Obverse: Each coin’s obverse depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The monetary denomination, year-made, weight and purity are also shown on the obverse of each coin.
