The Wedge-tailed Eagle Coin Series features designs of Australia’s largest bird of prey by master coin engraver John M. Mercanti. The portrayal on this stunning high relief release focuses on the magnificent bird’s head.  The raw nature conveyed by the artistry also benefits from an enhanced reverse proof finish - against a frosted background, the shiny surface of the bird is embellished with a range of subtle variations. Contained within the design is The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

The inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ Mintmark, contains coin’s weight, fineness and its 2022 year-date.
