2oz Buffalo Silver Round

Queensland Mint is proud to present the 2oz Buffalo Silver Coin from The Golden State Mint.

The American Buffalo Silver Round pays tribute to America’s native tribes and the majestic, once endangered buffalo. It is inspired by James Earle Fraser’s 1913 Buffalo Nickel, regarded as among the best designs of any U.S. coin. The obverse of the round features the word “LIBERTY” and a Native American face which is a visual composition of three different tribal chiefs: Iron Tail (Lakota), Two Moons (Cheyenne), and John Big Tree (Seneca). Fraser’s buffalo design on the reverse side depicts “Black Diamond” an American bison that called the Central Park Zoo in New York City its home in the early 1900s. The reverse of the round also features its weight and purity. While the design of these rounds is based on a coin originally issued by the U.S. Mint, these rounds are not legal tender and do not carry a face value. The American Buffalo Silver Round is an ideal companion to the U.S. legal tender American Buffalo Gold Coin.
