Queensland Mint is proud to present the 1974 1oz South African Krugerrand Gold Coin from The South African Mint.

First introduced in 1967, the Krugerrand was the world's first modern Gold bullion coin in the world and still a favourite of collectors and investors today. This coin offers a great value way to invest in gold. Minted to help market South African gold and produced by Rand Refinery and the South African Mint. The name is a compound of Paul Kruger, the former President of the South African Republic, and rand, the South African unit of currency. By 1980 the Krugerrand accounted for more than 90% of the global gold coin market and was the number one choice for investors buying gold.
