Queensland Mint presents the 1997 1oz American Eagle Gold Coin from the United States Mint.

This Gold Coin was very famous and highly traded during 1997, the year in which Princess Diana died in a fatal car accident in Paris. Despite attempts to save her life, Diana's injuries were too extensive.

**Please note under Austalian Law American Eagle Gold Coins (whilst containing a full ounce of gold) also contain 8.3% Copper and Silver making the coins larger and stronger. This is tradtional for gold coins designed for circulation becuase 9999 gold is very soft and easily damaged. Notheless due to the 917 purity American Eagle Gold Coins attract a 10% GST.
